I spent most of my life not knowing Jesus, and when I look back I realize that I never really had the opportunity to do just that.  Growing up in a denominational church, my acknowledgement of Jesus was very minimal.  During my childhood in the church, I knew Jesus as two distinct facts:  He was born on Christmas, and he died on the cross.

That's it. Christmas and Easter.  No big deal.  That's what I was taught.

Back then if I could have associated one word with Jesus it would have been Bethlehem.  My correlation with the King of kings at that time in my life was His birthplace.  I didn’t know any different.  I didn’t know what Grace was.

Many of us are taught the same thing, and still many others haven't even seen that miniscule degree of Him, let alone had the opportunity to witness His loving majesty.

I was never told that I could have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.  I never knew the Holy Spirit would live in me, that I would have Christ in me, that I could do all things through Christ.  I never had a clue.

I can't imagine how my life would be without having Jesus Christ as the main focus of my being.

There's a reason why you're on this page, a reason why you're reading these words.  God has awesome ways of directing our paths, especially when we don't even have a clue that He's doing just that.

Take a look at the greatness of Jesus Christ...

A Great God: For God...The Bible teaches there is an intelligent, eternal God who is characterized by holiness, power, timelessness, justice, and wisdom.  He is the infinite God.  He knows, sees, and cares.

A Great Love: For God so loved... God's love is a constantly available ocean of infinite care, concern, and compassion.   When we feel lonely, abandoned, or confused, that's the best time to open the Bible and read of God's great love.

A Great Gift:  God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son... This is the core of Scripture.  Our faults and failures, whether great or small, are sins that separate us from the presence and perfection of God.  The Bible teaches that all have sinned and have fallen short of His glory (Romans 3:23).  So God became a man - Jesus Christ - who reached down to us, taking our sins upon Himself.  His death and resurrection provide a basis for reconciliation with God.  Through Christ, we can experience a restored and revitalized relationship with God.

A Great Invitation:  that whoever believes in Him...To believe in Christ means to believe with our minds, confess with our mouths, and commit with our hearts.  It isn't just a mental assent; it means trusting Him enough to give Him our lives.

A Great Promise:  should not perish but have everlasting life...We are created to live forever, and the resurrection of Christ is the provision, proof, and pattern for our own eternal life.  Romans 10:9 says, "If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved."  You can do that now by meaningfully offering this prayer.

Dear God,

I believe You love me and that Jesus Christ came as Your gift, dying on the cross and rising again for me.  I confess my faults and failures; I ask You to forgive my sins.  I now ask Jesus to come into my life as my Lord and Savior.  I accept His promise of eternal life.  Help me live for Christ alone from this day.  In Jesus' name I pray.  Amen.

Welcome to the Kingdom!
